A Mediterranean-inspired eatery on Long Island, Plori (307 Old Country Rd., Carle Place) presents a unique twist on classical Greek seafood flavors. For starters, the appetizer menu offers Pikilia, Plori Crisps, and Lobster Souvlaki, along with other options. For the main course, they serve Lavraki, Red Snapper, Black Sea Bass, and other fish dishes, all fresh and flavorful. Seafood specials include Htenia, Yiouvetsi Thalassinon, and Kakavia, among others, each with a unique twist on classic seafood flavors.

Francesco Zimone grew up in Naples, Italy where he often enjoyed pizza with his father at L’Antica da Michele, founded in 1870. After a career in finance and residential renovation, he obtained the rights to open branches in Hollywood, Santa Barbara, and now, New York. The new location in the West Village (2 Bank Street) features an open kitchen, barroom, and separate counter for salumi and cheeses. The menu includes 16-inch Neapolitan-style pies with imported Italian ingredients, antipasti, salads, sandwiches, pastas, and main courses—all made in-house.

From the efforts of Steve Squitiro and Andrew Affa of the Standard Hospitality Group, Arlo Kitchen & Bar in Northport (1036 Fort Salonga Rd.) focuses on using the highest quality and best-sourced ingredients. This includes 60-day dry-aged, prime steaks, a porterhouse for two, a 24-ounce ribeye, and a New York strip steak. Arlo’s menu also features classic dishes, such as chicken Parmigiana, pasta dishes like lobster pappardelle, fresh raw bar offerings with oysters, and wild-caught fish dishes featuring salmon and halibut.

Hills of Herat is a new family-owned restaurant in Martinsville, NJ (1982 Washington Valley Rd. #2), serving authentic Afghan cuisine. They pride themselves on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where every customer feels like a welcomed guest. By sharing a piece of their culture with each dish, they offer a unique dining experience that is not to be missed. Rich in flavor and quality, stand-out dishes include kebabs and steaks, savory lamb chops, tender lamb shanks, mouthwatering pressure-cooked Dopiaza and chicken Qorma, flavorful rices, delicious Ashak and Mantu dumplings, and freshly baked bread.

Cork & Slice is a new cafe in Brooklyn, owned by the same group behind Doma and Streats on Long Island. It's their first kosher eatery outside the 5 Towns and is an elevated pizzeria, inspired by Noi Due Pizza in Manhattan. The menu features pizza slices, salads, starters, pasta, and even sushi. The owners aim to create a welcoming atmosphere and look forward to serving the vibrant and diverse Brooklyn community with their unique brand of elevated cuisine.
